As one of the five major stakeholders in education in Manitoba, MAPC is responsible for representing the parental voice in education matters in the province including meeting with education stakeholders and the Minister of Education and Training throughout each year.
Your membership supports MAPC so we can continue:
- Coordinating interesting and relevant events such as the Chairperson’s Breakfast and Annual General Meeting and Conference, in addition to forums, workshops, and presentations, encouraging parents and parent groups to learn and network with each other in support of building stronger communities
- Creating interesting resources and materials for parents and parent groups in school communities in Manitoba, such as the MAPC Resource Guide for Parent Advisory Councils and the Empowering Parents Guide
- Ensuring the ongoing administration and operation of the MAPC office, its staff, and its programs, such as the MAPC Advocacy Project, to ensure that parents, families, and parent groups have the support they need to be engaged in their schools
- Distributing monthly E-bulletins and event notifications through a variety of electronic and social media methods such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube
