2017 MAPC AGM & CONFERENCE enjoyed by all

The 2017 Annual General Meeting and Conference was held on May 5 & 6, 2017 at the Victoria Inn Hotel and Convention Centre with Parent Advisory Councils from 11 school divisions in the province represented. Friday evening gave people the opportunity to connect with other parent groups and celebrate parental involvement in our province! "Community engagement" was at the heart of this year's conference and was an evident theme throughout the weekend. MAPC was elated to present an individual parent volunteer with the annual Judy Aiken Memorial Award as well as a Parent Advisory Council for their outstanding contributions this year! The evening capped off with a meaningful presentation by Duane Brothers, Ph.D. who is the superintendent for Louis Riel School Division.

Call for Resolutions 2017
(Closed)

Every year, parents serving on school councils discuss educational issues they want to see addressed by the Manitoba government. They record these ideas in “statements of intent” by submitting a resolution for change. Proposed resolutions are reviewed by Manitoba Association of Parent Councils’ (MAPC) membership and voted on at our Annual General Meeting. If passed, these resolutions become part of MAPC position statements. New position statements are submitted to the Minister of Education and Advanced Learning for review and used to promote our position with other decision makers in Manitoba’s education system.

Your Parent Advisory Council must be a current MAPC member in good standing to propose a resolution). Please click here to download the guidelines to assist your PAC in making a submission.

The deadline for submitting a resolution has passed.
